Cory Hill Triumphs at the 49th Annual Molokai Challenge 2026 in Epic Conditions. 2nd Place: Clint Robinson. 3rd Place: Patrick Dolan

The famous Ka'iwi Channel delivered high drama and world-class downwind action for the 49th Annual Molokai Challenge (2026). In what turned out to be an unforgettable day on the water, elite paddlers faced a grueling 32-mile (53 km) open-ocean crossing from Molokai to Oahu, pushed to their limits by truly spectacular ocean conditions.

The Podium Lock

Australian powerhouse Cory Hill (@cory_chill_hill) cemented his legendary status in ocean paddling by capturing his 5th career victory at this prestigious event. Hill masterfully navigated the bumps and swells of the channel, proving once again why he is one of the most dominant forces in surfski racing.

Following closely behind in a thrilling battle for the top spots:

  • 1st Place: Cory Hill

  • 2nd Place: Clint Robinson (@clintdavidrobinson), the iconic Olympic champion, showcasing his timeless class and endurance.

  • 3rd Place: Patrick Dolan (@pattyds808), flying the flag high for the local Hawaiian contingent with a phenomenal podium finish.

"To win Molokai once is a career-defining achievement. To win it five times, especially in epic and demanding conditions, puts Cory Hill into the absolute stratosphere of ocean paddling legends."

Organized by the @kanaka_ikaika Racing Association, the 2026 edition lived up to its reputation as the ultimate test of stamina, ocean reading, and mental toughness. Congratulations to all the solo and relay competitors who conquered the channel this year!
