Endurance Test: Matthew Schembri Completes South Africa's Cape Point Challenge

Maltese paddler Matthew Schembri traveled to South Africa in December 2024 to tackle the Cape Point Challenge. Navigating 54km of open ocean filled with kelp, seals, and penguins, he finished 33rd out of 72 paddlers with a time of 5:09:59. Schembri also competed in the Seadog race during his stay, placing 13th. He cited the experience as vital for his growth and intends to bring the lessons learned back to the Maltese paddling community.
